June 4 – June 9, 2023 (Only commuter spots available)
Christ is the Light of the World. We are called to be people who live in the light because God is present within and around us. Carmelite spirituality has always addressed the issue of darkness seeking light. We were born in the dark disillusionment of the Crusades. This reflective week, led by Fr. Jack Welch, Fr. Bob Colaresi, and Fr. Rob Traudt, will focus on how to see, observe, absorb and be bathed in this light, amid dark and turbulent times in our lives and our world.
Cost: $435 – single or double occup.; $225.00 – commuter
Into The Land of Carmel
July 16-21, 2023
The Carmelite tradition began with a small group of Christians coming together in a valley on Mount Carmel in Israel in the early 1200’s. Life in the valley included an atmosphere of silence and solitude. These hermits gathered for daily Eucharist and weekly dialogue. Their fundamental activity was a contemplative attending to God’s loving presence.
This retreat/seminar will reflect the life lived long ago on Mount Carmel, but with additional elements of instruction in the tradition. With the saints of Carmel as our guides, we will explore the origins of Carmel, our living tradition and the nature of contemplative prayer.
This retreat begins on Sunday, July 16 at 5 p.m. for travelers to receive Eucharist or 6 p.m. with dinner and ends after lunch on Friday, July 21.
Cost: $450 – double occup.
$575 – single occup.
$350 – commuter
