HOPE:  The Journey to Light

Christ is the Light of the World.  The Divine Spark is the human soul (Prov. 20:27).  We are called to be people who live in the light because God is present within and around us.  Carmelite spirituality has always addressed the issue of darkness seeking light.  We were born in the dark disillusionment of the Crusades.   This reflective week, led by Fr. Jack Welch ad Fr. Bob Colaresi, along with other Carmelite staff, will focus on how to see, observe, absorb and be bathed in this light, amid dark and turbulent times in our lives and our world.  Darkness can be insidious and dangerous.  St. Therese’s teaching that “everything is Grace” proclaims the light!  Hope gently opens us to light and possibilities, which we experience in inner spiritual practices, prayer and the lives of saints and mystics.

Besides reflections, we will celebrate Eucharist, Reconciliation and Anointing and have great meals and time of quiet reflection.  The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM on Sunday and conclude with lunch on Friday.

Cost: $435.00 for single or double occupancy; $225.00 commuter rate.
